Blake and Avon Return To Blake’s 7!

Last month it was reported that Michael Keating would reprise his role as Vila Restal in Solitary, the first play in the new Blake’s 7 audio project The Liberator Chronicles form Big Finish Productions. Now it is confirmed that both Paul Darrow and Gareth Thomas will both return as Avon and Blake in the new audio adventures.

The second of the three plays is called The Turing Test, which also stars Micheal Keating as Vila, in which Avon goes undercover at a research base disguised as an android. This play is written by Simon Guerrier who among various Doctor Who book and audio credits also wrote Blake’s 7: The Early Years- The Dust Run.

Blake returns in the play Counterfeit, in which Blake and Avon break into the Bovee mining facility to discover the secret behind the mysterious mineral Illlusium, which could change the Federation forever. Counterfeit is written by Peter Anghelides, who is a familiar name name to the followers of the Doctor Who and Torchwood book ranges.

The Liberator Chronicles are being directed by Lisa Bowerman, script edited by Justin
Richards and produced by David Richardson.

Sets of the first three CD’s will be available to purchase in both physical form and downloadable copies in February 2012 with the second set becoming available in August of that year.

You can per-order now from Big Finish.

A date was also confirmed for the new Blake’s 7 book range, which will launch in May 2012.
