The Ballad of Halo Jones – LIVE!

The Ballad of Halo Jones LIVE!As part of their Midwinter Lassfest, pre-eminent Manchester public house The Lass O’Gowrie is prestenting full-cast adaptations of some of British sci-fi’s greatest material in January.

While a stage version of Russell T Davies’ Midnight is likely to attract Doctor Who fans, those of us who grew up on comics (specifically 2000AD) will be fascinated to learn that The Ballad of Halo Jones – fully authorised by Rebellion – is being performed!

In case you have forgotted – or simply don’t know – Halo and her friends live on the Hoop – a repository for the unemployed in the 50th century, but she won’t be beaten.  She dreams of getting out and becomes a legend in the process.  Join us for a brand new, full cast production of Books one and two the 50th century girl next door, created by Alan Moore and Ian Gibson and originally presented in 2000AD in the 80‘s.

This is a rare opportunity, and a script by two of the biggest names in British comics and with artwork by Doctor Who Magazine regular Adrian Salmon adorning the promotion poster, there are plenty of reasons to attend!
