New Composer for Bond in Skyfall

Thomas Newman

The composer of Skyfall, the twenty-third James Bond film, will be American composer Thomas Newman, whose past film credits include American Beauty, Road to Perdition and The Help. Newman is a ten time nominee for an Academy Award, and has also won a BAFTA and two Grammy awards for his composing work.

David Arnold

Newman’s hiring for the film is due to five time Bond composer David Arnold being unable to work on the latest Bond movie due to his commitment to the 2012 London Olympics as the event’s musical director. Arnold had worked on the previous five Bond films, starting with Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997 and ending with the last Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, in 2008.

Skyfall will land in cinemas on the 26th of October of 2012.
