Big Finish Does Dorian Gray

Starting this October, Big Finish Productions will begin releasing the five part mini series The Confessions of Dorian Gray each week. The series will also release a Christmas special.

The new series stars Alexander Vlahos as Dorian Gray. Vlahos will soon become more well known to may in the speculative fiction genre when he debuts as the adult Modred in the next series of the BBC’s Merlin:

“Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s classic story of hedonism and corruption, The Confessions of Dorian Gray imagines a world where Dorian Gray was real, and his friendship with Oscar Wilde spawned the notorious novel.

The Confessions of Dorian Gray begins with their final encounter in Paris at the dawn of the twentieth century, continuing right through to 2007 and the present day.”

Series producer Scott Handcock seems excited about working with Vlahos:

“We couldn’t have been luckier in the casting of Alex,’ s…’I've worked with him a few times now, and he’s one of the most instinctive and exciting actors I’ve ever seen in studio.

He’s a real pleasure to work with and has been wonderfully committed to the project from day one!

Alex has most certainly risen to the challenge!”

The producer also commented on what was in store for listeners in the new series:

“We have demons, romances, possession, ghosts – you name it! All of which offer fascinating glimpses into the mindset of Dorian Gray.”

The Confessions Of Dorian Gray will begin this October for a price of £2.99 for each indidiual episode or the entire first series for £12.99.
