John Logan’s Lips Sealed On Bond 24

-They always said the pen was mightier than the sword.
-Thanks to me they were right!

The James Bond International Fan Club have revealed more about the storylines explored within the next Bond films from scriptwriter John Logan…

“All I can say about Bond is that I’m happily writing it. Sam Mendes would rappel through the window and kill me” said Logan… “My goal is to write a movie that’s appropriate, to build on what we did on Skyfall, but make it its own unique animal. The themes, ideas and the characters from Skyfall can obviously continue on, because it is a franchise, and it is an ongoing story. So I think there’s resonance from Skyfall in the new movie”.

Like all of us, Logan admitted to growing up with the Bond movies. “The first one I saw was Diamonds Are Forever, when I was a kid. I just loved them to pieces. I love all the elements from the books… going back to Ian Fleming is where I started with Skyfall – and there’s certainly elements of the movies and the novels that we’ve brought in the new movie, as they did into Skyfall”.

And what about EON/MGM’s winning the legal battle to the rights of the arch-villian Ernst Stavro Blofeld? Are there any plans for him to return? All Logan had to say on the subject was “You know, I think our villain’s appropriate to the story we’re telling”.

Bond 24 is yet to have a title, but will be released late 2015. Its reported to be part of a story arc that spans both the 24th and 25th Bond movies. Ralph Fiennes is expected to return as ‘M’, whilst its hotly rumoured to potentially be Daniel Craig’s swansong in the franchise. It will be directed once again by Skyfall’s Sam Mendes.
