Tonight: Penny Dreadful Premiers 9pm on Sky Atlantic

This evening on Sky Atlantic, the UK premier of the intriguing new period horror fantasy drama Penny Dreadful, the first in a series of eight, a new Sky/Showtime co-production.

Josh Hartnett (Lucky Number Slevin), Eva Green (Casino Royale) and Bond legend Timothy Dalton star in this chilling new psychological thriller co-produced by Sky Atlantic and Showtime, which weaves together the origin stories of some of literature’s most frightening figures.

Written, created and executive produced by John Logan (writer of the Oscar®-nominated screenplays for Gladiator, Hugo and The Aviator), and executive produced by Oscar® winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) and Pippa Harris (Revolutionary Road), Penny Dreadful brings iconic characters including Dorian Grey and Dr Frankenstein and his monster together on the streets of Victorian London.

In search of someone close to them who has been lost, they recruit American sharp-shooter Ethan Chandler (Hartnett) and Dr Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) to help them on their journey.

Penny Dreadful also stars Billie Piper (Doctor Who), Rory Kinnear (Skyfall), Danny Sapani (The Fear) and Reeve Carney.
